Transforming Lives, Strengthening Communities

Founded on Christian values and a commitment to servant leadership, UGAD works alongside communities, government institutions, faith organisations, the private sector and development partners to address social and economic challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions. Our programmes empower individuals, strengthen institutions, improve livelihoods and promote inclusive growth — ensuring development is locally owned and sustainable.

A Community Seed Revolving System

Implemented with farmer groups in Namutumba District, the project promotes improved groundnut production through a revolving seed model. Rather than a one-time hand-out, farmers return part of their harvest each season, and the recovered seed is redistributed to new households — so the initiative expands naturally while strengthening community ownership.

  • 25 pioneer farmers each supported with quality planting seed
  • 1,250 kg of improved groundnut seed distributed
  • A community-managed revolving seed bank
  • Demand for the next round now many times greater

Our Approach

Development That Communities Own

We believe sustainable development is achieved when communities become active participants in designing and implementing solutions that improve their own lives.

Our approach combines faith-based values, community participation, accountability, innovation and strategic partnerships to deliver measurable and lasting impact.
