UGANDA AGENCY FOR DEVELOPMENT was established in 1995 as a company limited by guarantee by 8 Ugandan professionals to uplift the active poor by providing them with small loans. This mission was successfully carried out and in 2011 UGAFODE transformed into, a deposit taking institution (MDI) under the MDI Act of 2003.
It is now a fully-fledged Non – Governmental Organization which is registered with the NGO Board of Uganda under registration number S 5914/12362, as well as a company limited by guarantee without share capital.
The organization is located on plot M99 Nakasero hill lane, its mission is to “Promote social economic development through holistic community based initiatives”
The organization shall carry out its activities in fields of promoting education for the disadvantaged children, talent development among children and women, child protection, health, food security, capacity building and nutrition.
